Quality Management at Klinikum Landkreis Erding
One of the major corporate principles at Klinikum Landkreis Erding is the satisfaction of people who are in regular contact with the hospital: patients and their relatives, visitors, staff members, referring physicians, funding bodies, collaborating partners and the general public. This satisfaction can only be ensured by maintaining a high quality level of the hospital’s services. The personal efforts of every single employee contribute to the high quality standards of patient care and the hospital’s services.
For this reason, Klinikum Landkreis Erding decided to establish a quality management system as early as 2006, the goal being to constantly increase the service quality through continuous improvements. This requires the commitment of all staff members – but the hospital also has specific employees who are in charge of quality management. In addition to an authorised representative of the Top Management and another quality manager, numerous staff members of Klinikum Landkreis Erding from all departments have been trained to become quality management officers, who, in this capacity, lay the foundation for the proper function of the quality management system. Quality itself is not defined in the DIN standard; however, the specifications to be observed to standardise the daily work and service processes are defined. This is additionally backed by a number of different inspections during the workflow. The proper function of such a quality management system ensures a consistently high quality of patient care.
