Diabetes Counselling
At present, more than six million people in Germany are suffering from Diabetes mellitus, which is a chronic increase in the blood-sugar level.
A healthy lifestyle, accompanied by individual medication, can largely prevent or alleviate complications.
This is why Klinikum Landkreis Erding offers all inpatients and their relatives free-of-charge group education on the following subjects:
- What is diabetes?
- Healthy nutrition and exercise
- High blood-sugar levels and complications
- Hypoglycaemia and mode of action of medication
- Special feet care for people suffering from diabetes
The education subjects are compiled according to need. Education courses are held from Tuesday to Thursday between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in room 219 on the 2nd floor.
Immobile patients can request individual counselling directly in the patient room. Instruction on the correct handling of the blood glucose meter and the insulin pen are offered as well.
