Patient Care in Obstetrics

The 5th floor of Klinikum Erding houses the 16-bed Maternity Ward and a 52-bed interdisciplinary Short-Stay Ward, where patients are provided with medical and nursing services. You will be cared for on a human, professional and medical level by committed individuals who are there for you with passion and heart. Our staff members are highly motivated and enjoy working in their interprofessional and interdisciplinary positions.

It is important to our team to make you feel safe throughout your inpatient stay. Our staff members continue to educate themselves to deliver world-class medical services in your treatment and recovery process. Our nursing staff members have dedication, understanding and empathy and keep a clear head in difficult situations. The various teams on the 5th floor team employ experts who are open to new responsibilities and prepared for lifelong learning.

Providing young mothers with comprehensive care is a major focus on the Maternity Ward. Besides routine care for women who have recently given birth, the following additional services are also available:

  • Monthly parenting education in cooperation with the Erding Family Centre
  • Monthly information evenings for expectant mothers, including a tour of the delivery room
  • Personal lactation consultation with a lactation consultant
  • Breakfast buffet

The Short-Stay Ward provides care to patients in the following specialties:

  • Gynaecology
  • Urology
  • Cardiac catheterisation
  • Orthopaedics
  • Otolaryngology (ENT)
  • Ophthalmology

This includes monitoring and supporting patients after surgery as well as providing competent medical and nursing services for conservatively treated orthopaedic patients based on their specific symptoms.

We are there for you in any situation and make sure you are not on your own. Service-minded medical staff members, qualified nurses, ward secretaries, nursing auxiliaries and nursing assistants from a wide range of cultural backgrounds are working hand-in-hand for the benefit of the patient. If you have any questions, there will always be someone who can help you.
