Our services to you

In order to improve our service to you, we have personal nursing assistants in Klinikum Landkreis Erding and in Klinik Dorfen. Their responsibilities include the transportation of patients within the hospital and, secondly, the provision of personal services to the patients. These encompass shopping at the kiosk, running errands, delivering you the daily newspaper, arranging your telephone and television setup, patient support duringadmission and discharge (including luggage transport) and keeping you informed on special occurrences at the hospital, e.g. church service or events.

C

Cafeteria – Kiosk
The cafeteria is located in the entrance hall on the ground floor. It provides patients and visitors both a pleasant atmosphere witha variety of meals and beverages. When the weather allows, you may also enjoy a seat on the adjacent roofed terrace. Next to the cafeteria, there is a kiosk, where newspapers, books, beverages, snacks and much more can be purchased.

Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Chapel
The chapel is centrally located on the ground floor. It is open at all times – a place of silence, contemplation and prayer. In addition to the church service on Sundays at 9:00 a.m., ecumenical services are held several times a year.

Common rooms
A common room is located on each floor diagonally opposite the elevators. This is a place where patients have the opportunity to receive  visitors in a calm surrounding. Newspapers for your reading enjoyment are also provided.

Data protection
Medical confidentiality and data protection guarantee you, as a patient, the high level of confidentiality you deserve. All staff members of the hospital are obliged to keep confidential any personal data collected in your patient file during the course of your treatment. Your general practitioner and/or your family physician are supplied with the diagnostic and therapeutic information that is required to continue treatment – as subject to your consent. Please understand that information can only be provided to a limited extent over the phone.

Fire safety
For security reasons, smoking and the use of candles are not permitted in  patient rooms.

Flowers
Due to hygiene-standards, potted plants are not permitted in patient rooms. Cut flowers can be kept in the vases provided on your ward. Also due to hygiene and health safety restrictions, flowers may not be brought into the Intensive Care or Intermediate Care Units.

Interpreter services for our non-German-speaking patients
In the event of   communication problems, a hospital staff member who speaks the respective language can be called in to assist non-German-speaking patients. Multiple staff members are fluent in the languages spoken within the EU, Slavonic languages as well as Arabic, Turkish, Chinese and Korean.

Islamic prayer room (mescit)
An Islamic prayer room is located on the ground floor near the elevators. Please remove all shoes before stepping onto the prayer rug.

Lost and found
Please notify the staff on your ward in the event of loss of valuables.

M

Mail
Letters addressed to patients will be delivered by the nursing staff. Should any letters arrive after the patient is discharged, Klinikum Landkreis Erding will forward them to the known home address. Outgoing letters can be dropped into the mailbox in the room next to the information desk on the ground floor or can be given to the nursing staff of the respective ward.

Medication
It is of the utmost importance that you provide a complete list of your current medications upon admission. These will be reviewed by your attending physician, who will provide you with equivalent medications, which may appear to be different while consisting of the same active ingredients. During your stay inKlinikum Landkreis Erding, we ask that you refrain from taking any other medications than those ordered by your attending physician or administered by our nursing staffMedications taken without the knowledge of your attending physician may lead to dangerous side effects and should therefore only be used after direct consultation with your attending physician.

Mobile phones
For safety reasons, you and your visitors may not switch on and use mobile phones within Klinikum Landkreis Erding. Mobile phones may interfere with the electronic components of patient monitoring systems, cardiac pacemakers and infusion pumps, thus putting yourself or others in jeopardy.

Patients’ garden
Both locations of Klinikum Landkreis Erding have their own patients’ garden offering benches for lingering.

Patient discharge

  • The ward physician will inform you about the time of your discharge.
  • You will receive your discharge letter from the ward secretary or at the nurse station. If necessary, the discharge letter can be picked up by your relatives or sent to your attending physician.
  • Where ambulance service is required for discharge or transfer, it will be organized by your ward's nursing staff.
  • Upon discharge, you can redeem your telephone card on the telephone card machine in the room located opposite the information desk in the entrance hall.
  • Please remember to pay the fee for your hospital stay on discharge.

R

Radio
The patient rooms feature radios integrated in the manual call system. The earphones required for this purpose can be purchased from our nursing staff.

S

Smoking
Smoking on the premises of Klinikum Landkreis Erding is only permitted in designated smoking areas.

Spiritual care
Our Catholic spiritual care staff are available Monday thru Friday and Sunday mornings for sharing your concerns, providing an open ear and for accompanying prayer upon request. Patients can request a visit via nursing staff, at the information desk or by leaving a message in the letter box next to the chapel. Church services are held in the chapel on Sundays and public holidays at 9:00 a.m. After services, the holy communion is distributed on the wards, when requested.

T

Tea kitchen
There is a small tea kitchen equipped with an electric kettle, teabags and mineral water on each floor.

Telephone
Telephones are available in each room. They can be used with telephone cards, which can be purchased in the room located opposite the information desk in the entrance hall.

Television
A television with earphones is provided by ward staff upon request. The screen is fixed to the bedside table and is intended for use by the respective patient only. Use of the television is subject to a charge of € 3.00 per day, which is paid to the nursing staff on the respective ward.

Therapy Center
Physical therapy, ergotherapy, speech therapy and podology are important supplements to medication and surgical treatment. During their inpatient stay, patients receive treatment both on the ward and directly at the Therapy Center. Following inpatient stay, treatment can be continued at the Therapy Center on an outpatient basis.

V

Valuables
Please do not bring any valuables to the hospital. Should you have any valuables with you, please ask your relatives or persons of trust to take them home. If this is not possible, you can store cash and valuables at the patient administration office free of charge against a voucher. The hospital accepts no liability for valuables kept in patient rooms.

Visitors
There are a number of possible places to receive your visitors at our hospital: in your room, in the common rooms on the wards, in the entrance hall or in the cafeteria.

Visiting hours are between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Following consultation with the admitting physician, an accompanying person can also be accommodated in the patient room.
