Medical Director and Head of Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery Prof. Dr. Gerhard Konrad
Prof Dr. Gerhard Konrad has been head of the Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery Department of Klinikum Landkreis Erding since September 2010; in July 2012, he was appointed as medical director by the Board of Directors.
His professional career led Prof. Konrad from his studies in Würzburg and Munich to Klinikum Augsburg, where he had worked until 2001 under the direction of Prof. Rüter and completed his specialty training before he moved on to Freiburg University Hospital under the direction of Prof. Südkamp. The trauma surgeon considers shoulder surgery his special area of expertise, which is also reflected in his scientific work: He spent a year in Pittsburgh, USA, to do research in the field of shoulder biomechanics. Back in Germany, he continued working as consultant in Freiburg and completed his postdoctoral thesis in 2008.
