Outpatient treatment options

Outpatient surgeries/procedures

Visceral Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Endocrine Surgery:

  • Proctologic procedures, e.g. removal of haemorrhoids, fistulas, etc.
  • Hernia surgery (abdominal, inguinal and femoral hernia)
  • Port catheters
  • Small skin tumours, soft tissue tumours

Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, Hand Surgery:

  • Percutaneous K-wire osteosynthesis of small tubular bones and the radial basis
  • Removal of small implants
  • Arthroscopy (visualisation of joints)
  • Hand surgery for conditions such as ganglia, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers, extensor tendon injuries or adhesions, mild forms of Dupuytren’s contracture
  • Small skin tumours

Vascular Surgery (Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Phlebology):

  • Removal of varicose veins (phlebectomy of varicose greater or small saphenous veins)

Gastroenterology and Metabologic Disorders:

  • ERCP (visualisation of bile duct and pancreatic duct) for diagnosis and in combination with therapeutic procedures (gall stone extraction, stents, etc.)
  • Partial and complete colonoscopy (visualisation of colon) including polypectomy

Gynecology

  • Tissue sampling from the cervix to detect neoplasms of uncertain behaviour (conisation)
  • Curettage
  • Sterilisation

Outpatient services

Visceral Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Endocrine Surgery:

  • Examination and consultation as well as scheduling as part of surgery preparation
  • Pre- and post-inpatient treatment
  • Consultation and obtaining a second opinion without later inpatient treatment (on invoice)

For private and self-pay patients:

  • Examination, consultation and treatment

Vascular Surgery (Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Phlebology):

  • Diagnosis of arterial circulatory disorders of the brain and the legs as well as of venous diseases (varicose veins)
  • Examinations to rule out vascular diseases
  • Follow-up examinations after surgical treatment of arterial and venous circulatory disorders

Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, Hand Surgery:

  • Examination and consultation as well as scheduling as part of surgery preparation
  • Post-inpatient treatment
  • Consultation and obtaining a second opinion without later inpatient treatment (on invoice)

For private and self-pay patients:

  • Examination and treatment

Cardiology and Pneumology:

  • Bronchoscopy incl. sampling (e.g. bacteriology, cytology, histology)
  • Autofluorescence bronchoscopy for early tumour detection

For private and self-pay patients:

  • Examination, treatment and consultation in connection with pulmonary diseases, bronchial diseases and suspected tumours
  • Investigation of cough, shortness of breath, expectoration and oxygen deficiency
  • Pulmonary function testing, bronchial challenge testing, oximetry, stress testing, allergy testing

Gastroenterology and Metabolic Disorders:

For private and self-pay patients:

  • Gastroscopy in combination with endoscopic procedures (e.g. balloon catheter dilatation)
  • Colonoscopy for diagnosis and in combination with endoscopic procedures (e.g. polypectomy)
  • ERCP (visualisation of bile duct and pancreatic duct in combination with therapeutic procedures, e.g. gall stone extraction, insertion of plastic or metal stents into the bile duct)
  • pH measurement over 24 hours (measurement of acid in the oesophagus)
  • Measurement of oesophageal and rectal pressure (manometry)
  • 13C urea breath test (Helicobacter pylori – gastric infection)
  • Hydrogen breath test to diagnose conditions such as lactose intolerance
  • Ultrasound examination of abdomen and thyroid gland incl. puncture
  • Liver puncture
  • Diagnosis of metabolic disorders
  • Diabetes counselling/management
  • Dietary advice

Gynecology and Obstetrics:

  • Admission for delivery
